Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your company, ReMinded?

Annika: My name is Annika Lundström, and I’m part of an exciting venture called ReMinded, based in Helsinki, Finland. We're in the process of moving to Silicon Valley for a few months to scale our operations. Our startup is focused on the early detection of health issues, utilizing a novel sensor technology developed by our talented research team. The core of our mission is to bring innovative health solutions to the market, and securing patents for our technology is a crucial step in that journey.

What challenges did you face in the patent process before using Lightbringer?

Annika: Before Lightbringer, the whole patent process sounded daunting, to say the least. I talked to a couple of IP firms, prior to proceeding with Lightbringer. The legal jargon was overwhelming, and there was a significant lack of clarity in how to navigate the patent application process. Understanding the specific requirements for a patent was another hurdle. It felt like an impossible task, especially for a startup where time and resources are precious.

If Lightbringer hadn’t come into the picture, the next 2-3 patents we planned might have been skipped. Thanks to Lightbringer, navigating the patent process is now simple, straightforward, and fun.

How did Lightbringer change the patent application process for you?

Annika: Lightbringer was a game-changer for us. The platform simplified the entire process, breaking it down into manageable, clear steps. Suddenly, the legal jargon that seemed so intimidating was demystified, and the requirements became clear and straightforward. Lightbringer guided us through each phase, ensuring we understood what was needed and when. This step-by-step approach was exactly what we needed to navigate the complexities of the patent process.

Can you share a specific success story or a detailed walkthrough of your experience with Lightbringer?

Annika: Certainly. One of our most significant successes with Lightbringer was patenting our sensor technology. Traditionally, this could have taken us six months or more.

With Lightbringer, we managed to file a patent in just two weeks and a half.

The platform’s GenAI capabilities were particularly impressive, helping us to refine our ideas and articulate our use cases in a way that was both innovative and legally sound. Not only did we save an immense amount of time, but the cost-effectiveness of Lightbringer’s solution allowed us to allocate resources more efficiently elsewhere in our business. Lightbringer provided a level of flexibility I hadn't imagined possible.

In the traditional route, I’d be scheduling meetings with a patent attorney, facing delays, and engaging in endless email exchanges. However, Lightbringer allowed me to work on my patent application whenever inspiration struck, even if that was at 9pm.

This freedom to operate on my own schedule as an inventor was invaluable.

How did Lightbringer’s legal partners contribute to your patent application process?

Annika: The collaboration with Lightbringer’s legal partners was a pivotal part of our success. Their expertise, combined with Lightbringer's innovative software, created a seamless and supportive experience. This partnership ensured that we navigated the patent application process with confidence, feeling supported at every turn. It was the perfect blend of technology and expert legal advice, making the entire journey not just easier, but also more effective.
