Business Development Representative - UK (Cambridge)
Join us as a dynamic Business Development Representative (BDR) and be a key part of our UK expansion, focusing on the vibrant Cambridge tech scene. This is not your typical BDR role; we are seeking a relationship builder and networker to generate qualified opportunities through active engagement, direct outreach, and strategic partnerships. If you thrive in an early-stage startup, enjoy autonomy, and are excited to build our presence from the ground up, this role is for you. Expect travel within Cambridge, North London, and Oxford, plus monthly trips to our Swedish HQ in Malmö.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Partnership & Ecosystem Development
Identify and engage with deep tech startup accelerators, incubators, tech hubs, and partners in the Cambridge ecosystem.
Organize and deliver workshops and seminars to generate leads and educate potential partners.
Qualify opportunities from partners before handing them off to Account Executives.
Track and manage opportunities from partnership activities.
Lead Generation at Industry & Networking Events
Scout relevant industry events and networking opportunities in your territory.
Attend events to identify and qualify leads for Lightbringer.
Follow up on event leads to book discovery meetings for Account Executives.
Represent Lightbringer at events with a booth setup.
Maintain records of event quality and ROI.
Lightbringer-Hosted Events
Project-manage physical events in your territory, handling venue coordination and logistics.
Direct Outreach & Qualification
Employ traditional business development techniques, including calls and in-person networking.
Qualify leads based on our Ideal Customer Profile: tech startups and SMEs with patent activity.
WHO YOU ARE
A natural networker who enjoys building relationships in the tech and startup community.
Experienced in a BDR or field sales role, ideally in SaaS or tech.
A "builder" and "pioneer" who is comfortable with ambiguity and takes initiative.
Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
Organized, self-motivated, and able to work with autonomy.
Willing and able to travel frequently within the UK and to Sweden.
Understands the value of face-to-face interactions.
Bonus: Familiarity with the Cambridge tech ecosystem.
